Joey Smith

Joey Smith, is Director of Client Enablement and DevOps Engineering for Hoodoo Digital, he joined the AEM community in 2013 after fifteen years as a software engineer and systems administrator across various other platforms. 

A founder of AEMPodcast.com and AEMhq.com, he has a passion for getting developers to take a more active role in the long-term maintenance of the AEM platform. 

With experience both as an AEM partner and an AEM customer, he's become intimately familiar with many of AEM's more unique operational demands, which is what convinced him to come back to the agency side to help drive deeper, and make lasting change in the AEM community.

Something fun:

Joey is the definition of a homebody and enjoys spending time with his wife and family. He has many hobbies, but surely literature is a passion of his that rivals all others, He often quotes Erasmus: "When I get a little money I buy books; and if any is left I buy food and clothes." Joey has almost 50,000 books - fiction, non-fiction, sf/f, technical manuals, biographies, classic literature–you name it his library probably has it.
