Why do I work for Hoodoo? Part 2

Peter Nash • Jan 28, 2021

In a previous article I shared some of the reasons why some of our employees chose to work for Hoodoo Digital. We’ve grown quite a lot since then and so I thought it would be good to do an updated article with some of our newer employees. Additionally, I wrote about why someone would want to work for Hoodoo, that you can read to refresh why we are such a great place. So, here are a few of our employees sharing some of the main reasons why they choose to work for Hoodoo Digital.

Shivani Garg
Much of the work involved in development can be routine at times, including AEM. The same configurations need to be set up, permissions need to be granted, content needs to be synced between environments, or building component dialogs. Shivani had reached a point of having worked on AEM for so many years that she was looking for something fresh. And she saw that Hoodoo was taking steps to innovate and expand the AEM ecosystem with tools like AEM Cloud and their Connectors. And not only were we doing this, we were going to allow her the opportunity to explore, to expand the type of work she did. “Knowing that I could try something new and be a part of an organization that was trying to be more than just another implementation agency motivated me to want to join the team.”

Kyle Rosenlof

Kyle carries a lot of expertise and experience in the data tracking world. Not only as an Adobe certified expert and Master with several of the Adobe Experience Cloud products, but also as a subject matter expert and exam writer for Adobe certification tests. We were ecstatic that he would be willing to join our team and help to build out and expand our Analytics offering. “I liked knowing that I could help to influence and mold the Analytics practice. The company leadership is open to suggestions and improvements from everyone, rather than just listening to the manager of a department. Knowing that people value my feedback and direction is huge

Pablo Calvo
He heavily identifies as a Digital Nomad, the type of person that gets work done wherever they are and not bound down by borders or offices, as evidenced by the fact that he started working for Hoodoo while living in Germany and has since moved to Costa Rica. Pablo is constantly learning and pushing himself in new areas, as evidenced by the certifications he has earned since coming here (AEM Sites Business Practitioner, Selenium Tester, AWS Practitioner, and Google Cloud Associate Engineer). “Hoodoo really had everything I was looking for: the opportunity to expand my skill set, the ability to work remotely, and good coworkers that I could trust. I am excited about the fact that Hoodoo is trying to innovate on new and interesting things, and that I can help to influence the direction we might take or add to the offerings that help our customers.”

Kara Troester
No one likes to be ignored, but there is a difference between someone listening to you and actually feeling “heard”. So when Kara was approached by a previous coworker to come to Hoodoo, that was top of mind for her. So how did it feel when she made the switch to the Hoodoo team? “I completely feel like I am part of the family. They invested time and attention on me as a person and as a businesswoman to learn and grow in my technical understanding of the Adobe ecosystem. I know why people spoke so highly of Hoodoo and I am glad to help continue to build that brand identity.”

Meghashyam Adoni
Not having felt supported by his previous company and feeling like he was ready for something new, Meghashyam was open to considering a change. Being good friends with Tyler Maynard prepared Meghashyam to understand the type of work environment that exists here at Hoodoo. “The work I do now is more fulfilling and allows me to explore more in the technical space in a variety of projects and problems. I find it enticing to be part of a team that has similar goals for themselves as I do.”

Hannah Stout
While Hannah was certainly impressed with the benefits package that we offered, she was just as interested to find a cohesive team to work with that would allow her to push for something greater and actually feel like she was part of the team. “Design is my love, but it was time for me to step up and expand from smaller scale work. Hoodoo gave me the opportunity to be able to work with people that could help grow my capabilities and challenge myself, specifically to find the data behind design decisions.”

We’re very proud of our team and grateful that they work with us. Do you work with a great team of dedicated and motivated Adobe Experience Cloud specialists?

We do. We’re Hoodoo.
